چکیده

The authors propose four versions of a dual-gate active down-conversion mixer for H-band applications. operates at local oscillator (LO) frequency 240 GHz. It is designed maximum conversion gain and large bandwidth least 50 GHz from 220 to 270 Furthermore, the .optimised operate low LO power levels beneath 0 dBm. This renders hungry buffer stages redundant. Hereby, necessary chip size overall consumption fully integrated receivers can be drastically reduced. Four different downconverter were designed. Firstly, layout transistors was changed conventional multi-transistor cell design topology within multi-finger transistor cell. Secondly, two on-chip solutions decouple drain voltage intermediate (IF) signal realised facilitate zero-IF conversion: resistive an load. results are presented advantages disadvantages usage in terahertz applications thoroughly analysed. Finally, mixers compared state-of-the-art with regard gain, bandwidth, linearity, noise figure size.

Heterostructure Barrier Mixers for Terahertz Applications

This paper deals with Schottky and Heterostructure Barrier devices fabricated for planar integration in a 560 GHz Subharmonic Mixer (SHM). Taking advantage of an InP-based technology, two barrier types, metal/InGaAs and metal/InAlAs/InGaAs respectively, have been investigated. The design was carried out by means of self-consistent quantum calculations and the fabrication involved submicron Tsha...

TeraHertz Schottky-Diode Balanced Mixers

We report on the first THz balanced mixer/upconverter using a Schottky diode MMIC chip. Using an optically pumped laser at 1562 GHz as an LO source with a coupled power of about 1 mW, and 1 mW input at an IF frequency of 10 GHz, we obtained a sideband output power of 23 uW (sum of two sidebands). As a mixer, at an LO of 1621 GHz, we obtain a conversion loss of 12.4 dB DSB and a noise temperatur...

Comparison of Post Operative Early Active and Passive Mobilization of Flexor Tendon in Zone 2

Objectives: Despite numerous studies, having the best outcome is challenging after flexor tendon repairs in zone 2. This study were done to test the hypothesis that immediate postoperative active mobilization will achieve similar outcomes to passive mobilization. Methods: Fifty fingers in 38 patients with flexor tendon repair in zone 2 were enrolled in this trial. The patients randomly assig...

A Comparison of Active and Passive Sensors

Knowledge of the road status and specifically knowledge of the freezing point of the road surface fluid is crucial in order to perform effective and environmentally safe road maintenance. Road status sensors installed in the road can be passive conductivity sensors or active freezing point sensors. In this paper the output from a passive and an active sensor has been studied when the sensors ha...
